Top Roped Walls

By far the most popular form of climbing in the centre. Six of our walls are set for top rope climbing. Each wall is different and offer a variety of angles from gentle slabs to larger overhangs. One of the new top rope walls even has a small roof to add interest.

Rockcity now has eight Self Belay Devices. This gives the lone climber a chance to do routes, without a belayer and without having to solo!
The idea is that they do not replace the top ropes, but compliment them. Rockcity users have given very positive feedback, making the centre more flexible and easier to use, not always needing a belay partner.

The self belay device, never locks off! It simply lowers anyone between 5 stone and 24 stone to the ground at a nice, controlled rate. The device even offers protection as soon as you leave the floor, with no slack in the system and no rope stretch you will not hit the floor from 12" up!
